Today we mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day, observed each year on January 27, the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1945.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day honours the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, along with the millions of others who were victims of Nazi persecution. It is a day to reflect on the devastating consequences of unchecked antisemitism and dehumanization.
As we remember the past, we must also remain alert to how antisemitism appears today, including when it is repackaged or normalized. Singling out Jewish identity, or denying the Jewish people the same rights and self-determination afforded to others causes real harm and does not advance justice.

Antisemitism, in any form and from any source, must never be tolerated. Remembrance demands the courage to confront hatred wherever it appears, so that Never Again is not only remembered, but upheld.
